Comments
Comments: Lower end of Carriage from Breezy Point all the way to Jct w snapper is an inch of two of dry powder on top of the old crap from the freeze-thaw cycle -- frozen post holes, half-frozen mud, thin ice over running water. Not enough fresh snow to start packing down a new trail, but at least enough to make it doable. I was the first set of tracks in this AM, but quite a few people followed, so up to Snapper should be well stomped by now. Snapper to South Peak Junction is more of same, except no more standing water: just an inch of powder on top of the carnage of old ruts and post holes. It's doable, but it's not fun. Ridge is a little trashed, summit just barely covered. Microspikes all the way until we get something fresh on top.
