Comments: Very thin cover ascending Blueberry Ledge until around 3600' so bare boots would do the trick. Beyond that, the snowpack was solid today-spikes went on and snowshoes stayed on our backs. Ledges were a mix of rock and ice with 1-2" of fresh snow on top. My hiking partners who are taller ascended them no problem in sharp spikes and I was happy to have their help for a supported ascend. The couple behind us had brought rope but they were able to pair up and do it without rope too. Nonetheless, we decided a more appropriate name for the trail would be the "Butt-pucker Ledge Trail."
Based on previous reports we had braced ourselves for a mess of postholes on the Rollins Trail. While they are many in number, most are not super deep and it was easy to move pretty quickly in spikes across this stretch. Dicey's was in good shape up to the summit and all the way down to the crossing. After that we ditched our spikes and it was a mix of very thin wet snow, leaves, mud, water, and rocks.
