| Comments: |
Turned back at the hut due to poor visibility, and the trail beyond was not broken out at all. Bare boots or spikes were fine to Gem Pool, from there we encountered hard ice under a few inches of powder and used crampons. Saw others attempting in spikes, which I imagine would have been tricky in a few icy spots on the ledges. Snow is quite wet and sticky with the warm weather and was balling under my spikes at lower elevations. |
