| Comments: |
About 2-inches of new snow covered the hard packed trail base from top to bottom. After the many hikers today it was well packed. Most hikers used spikes, with a few using snowshoes. Snowshoes helped in the steep sections as spikes slipped a bit on the new snow. The snow cover on the trial is still thin with lots of rocks and roots poking through. There are few areas with postholes, but easy to avoid them. Spikes should be a good choice in the days to come as long as the temperature stays at or below freezing. |
