Comments: Rocky branch trail, Engine Hill bushwhack, Isolation bushwhack, Davis path

At the time I write this 1/5 there is not much snow at all. Uses spikes start to finish. That will change following the next storm but as of now rocky branch starts out as a combo of bare ground and transitions to a thin layer of packed snow. The higher section of this trail was the typical running water, muddy leaf pits, and packed snow. The snow filled in about 2 miles in but it's extremely firm and not deep which made for pleasant conditions. The Engine hill bushwhack was mostly easy to follow but in some areas the snowshoe track has melted away so much we ended up meandering off. Fortunately, since the snow has been so compacted by the recent warmth postholing wasn't really a problem. This was my easiest time navigating engine hill. Reaching the established trail again, the next bushwhack straight to Davis path was easy to spot only about 100 yards up on the left. This one is in excellent shape with a nice firm base and is easy to follow through the forest. Popping out on the Davis path, again I was pleasantly surprised how solid this part of the trail is. The typical massive snow drifts usually on Davis were nonexistent and we cruised with our spikes here. There's some blue ice on the spur just below the summit but with traction it's manageable.
