Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Water crossings to Mount Tom from Avalon trail included icy sections but were overall manageable. Coming down A-Z trail running water crossings were icy but low. Deep pooled water on A-Z trail made one a bushwhack.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Many blow downs on A-Z trail and very few blazes. Many birch trees were peeling which must have been what the blazes were on.

Comments
Comments: Avalon Trail and A-Z to Mount Tom Spur (including the spur) are well packed and easy to follow. A-Z to Zealand trail was not packed (required snowshoes) and very poorly marked and blazed. Even when on blazed trails we often lost it due to overgrown hobblebush and spruce trees.
