 | Comments: |
Roberts was easily barebooted, then switched to snowshoes for the High Ridge Trail. HRT was an absolute mess, with no sign of any snowshoe traffic, just postholes galore, which made snowshoeing a constant challenge; I don’t know how (or why) people do a loop of this length while sinking to their shins and knees with every step! The postholes continued down Faraway Mountain Trail and Cold Spring Trail until about 1600’ when snowshoes became unnecessary. The short old road to the Faraway summit had only a very faint single snowshoe track, and was a thankful break along the way. |
