Zealand Rd was mostly ice free and firm. Bare booted that. We put spikes on at Hale Brook Trailhead and kept them on until we got back to the trailhead. We carried snowshoes but never thought about putting them on. The trail quickly transitioned to firm packed snow and stayed that way the whole time. Much better conditions than I was expecting. |
