Comments
Comments: Followed Cobble Hill Trail south for about a mile. Turned SE and started heading up to the ridge, some times on old skidder or logging roads, or just bushwhacking. Once on the ridge, headed south to the high point. Easy to locate the jar, however the contents were soaked, the ledger was not even readable/handleable. Signed a slip of paper, but didn't have new register. Replaced wet contents, but maybe the next person can bring a new register. Returned to CHT on a 'road' winding down the hill.

Rather than bushwhacking right up to the Moody Ledge summit, we returned north on CHT for about 0.% mile, and took a SW line to the ridge, and ascended the ridge to the summit. The woods were open, either hard woods or pine trees with a beautiful covering of moss. In a few locations, we had to get around blowdowns, but mostly the route was pretty clear. Only steep point was closer to the summit. Found high point and register in good shape. For the return, we decided to take our chance on a more direct route back to the CHT. We encountered smaller stick wood / pine forests that made for slow going. Plus, as the COL between the peaks is quite wet (hence, the other reason for the more norther ridge approach on ascent avoiding this area). Since these were more like spring melting conditions, most of the low lands were less than ideal, soft and swampy.

We were happy to be back on the CHT, however, it was more of a stream all day. Running water, a lot of running water; had to stay to the banks of the trail, not directly on the trail. Very muddy in many sections. Large groves remained from earlier ATV traffic (?). Some stretches' of ice as well.
