Comments
Comments: Today checked off orphan North twin for January ,so up and back to summit. Socked in but mild weather and low winds. Pretty wet trail today, herd path seeing lots of water. 3rd crossing unstable snow and ice , forded crossing on submerged rocks with garbage bags and spikes . Also crossed on a log upstream. After 3000 feet snow was firm and stable for light traction. Below that rocks mud stretches of well worn snow easy for traction. Carried snow shoes but never had to use them. Pretty yucky conditions out there , more like shoulder season. Happy trails :)
