I snowshoed up the ski trails before the ski area opened at 9am with my skis on the backpack, dropped my skis off by the ski patrol shack and continued across the ridge with the snowshoes on for extra traction and televators. The trail across the ridge was firm and supported my snowshoes. There were some icey spots going up and down D peak as well as A peak that took some extra time to go up and down safely. Then I returned back to the top of the ski mountain, swapped the snowshoes for skis and swooshed my way down. It was a great day to earn some turns and check these two peaks off the list for my January Grid #274&275 |
