First one was hoppable but one of the hops was like a foot and a half. Second was just barely ice bridged on our way up and fell apart on our way back making that crossing challenging. Third crossing we went slightly downstream to rock hop. |

| Comments: |
Every bit as wet as reports from other trails indicate. First mile is mostly mud, second is mud and spotty ice. Spikes went on just above the Bald Peak trail junction and we stayed in them until getting back down to the junction. We carried snowshoes the whole way but never used them as the snow on the ridge was thinning in some spots and where it was “deeper” (maybe a foot with some slightly higher drifts) it was well packed and stable. Steep sections heading up to N Kinsman were icy as usual-very do able today with the soft ice but with cooler temps these could present more of a challenge. |
