|Water Crossing Notes:
||Lots of water, everything rock/ice hoppable but some check your ice bridges twice. |
|Trail Maintenance Notes:
||A few blowndowns on North Twin Trail, mostly walk overs or walk arounds. 10 or so on Bondcliff Trail, some of those you have to crawl under. |
||Didn't see any living fauna |
|Lost and Found:
||Overall the conditions are very soft. The trails have seen traffic since any snow so it's not _exactly_ like you're packing anything out, but there are areas where it's so soft it sure feels like it.|
Oh and lower Bondcliff trail is a freaking mess.
Barebooted from 7 Dwarfs to the trailhead, then spiked up to maybe 2500' and converted to shoes when the snow got deeper. Kept the shoes on until the ascent to Bondcliff. The Bondcliff ascent is very rocky, we switched to spikes or bareboots when it was too much to take, then back to shoes after the summit. Bondcliff Trail down was soft snow and almost pleasant until about 1/2 way down, then the trail decayed into wet rocks, ice, snow wash rinse repeat. Very long slog. Rail trail was more of the same but less annoying because it was not rocky just muddy.
