Comments
Comments: Was feeling apprehensive after all the previous day reports of postholing and collapsing monorails. Start of the trail was hard packed then as it started to climb, more than half way, there were spots where the snow had melted to expose rock and bare ground. If you wore snowshoes from the start, you'd have been frustrated taking them on and off. I wore microspikes the whole way and was fine. The snow fields toward the approach to summit were dotted with snowshoe-size postholes but I just stepped inside them. Summit had some bare rock and some snow field. Attempted to go to Mount Stairs afterward but it looked like one person or two had bare-booted before the snow melt so it still needs to be broken out.
