Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: rock hops
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: I didn't pay close attention but it appeared that some of the waterbars on the steeper sections of Flume and Liberty between the peaks are either stranded or blocked; due to Irene caused erosion. There was a head banger across Liberty Spring. The trails were clear and fast.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Pepper had a great time today. The trails were easy, he wrangled some food out of Georg, the temps were pretty good, he got to sip and dip near the end and tearing downhill in the leaves was such fun. But he liked having some water on the ridge from me a couple of times. We met one other nice dog on Haystack.

Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Georg found a small blue towel and packed it out.

Comments
Comments: The forecast of summits in the clouds with winds of 25 mph only held for the time we were on Lafayette's cone. The peaks were clearing nicely and the winds were greatly diminished by Haystack, and by Liberty only Washington was in the clouds, soon to become clear. We carried microspikes but never needed them; there was only significant snow on OBP and Liberty Springs nearing treeline, and it was relatively consolidated. There was very little from Lincoln over to Flume, and none down low on OBP and LS. All in all it was an awesome day in November to be on this ridge and peaks. We didn't meet too many other hikers but we did run into several very accomplished ones that Georg introduced me to, and a nice couple from England that had quite an adventure coming up Flume Slide. It was another great day on great trails with great companions.
