Comments
Comments: Snowshoes car to car. I would say snowshoes are the way to go, but we met two people in just spikes in the Middle Sister area.

The only part of our hike today that had been previously broken out was Carter Ledge Trail from Nickerson Ledge Trail to Middle Sister. Snow was mashed potatoes, most challenging in the 3.3 miles of Middle Sister Trail that was unbroken. After two of us snowshoed through today, it is kind of a chopped up mess, but at least any who follow won’t have to search for the trail (haha), but I don’t believe this trail sees too much winter usage anyway.

Snow cover was a bit thin on the beautiful open ledge sections. The sketchiest ledge was fine in snowshoes with good claws on this particular day. We also carried spikes and an ice axe just in case but did not use them. The snow on the sketch ledge will likely be gone with the weather warmup. There is quite a dropoff there!! :O
