Soft snow made for variable traction. Didn't feel quite deep enough for snowshoes but there was some postholes to navigate particularly along the ridge between the south peak spur and treeline. You wouldn't be wrong to bring snowshoes but I suspect you will be removing them often enough to be annoyed. Sometimes you just got to dodge the postholes and hope for the best. Snow is deep enough along the ridge to be a real PIA with the coming warmup. |
