Comments
Comments: All trails are beyond repair until it melts or we get more snow. My snowshoes went for a ride… one could use them on Firescrew but it would be a lot of on off. Tons of ice, Manning Trail had a couple places where you sink in but not significantly. It’s too frozen. Up on Firescrew it was broken out by someone in spikes and now it is frozen. Which would make snowshoeing very difficult. But it’s nice to have well formed kicked in steps. You go from walking on top of the crust one step, next step you sink in a few inches, next step you’re on straight ledge, next step it’s an ice river, next step you’re on leaves… honestly the best traction option is micros. Clark Trail is a HOT postholed mess. Watch every step. If it significantly warms and the snow begins to melt it will likely be just ice.
