Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Ran into a group of hikers, one of whom had lost the knob adjuster on their Tubbs snowshoes. We found it and left it at the kiosk at Livermore parking area.

Comments
Comments: Snowshoes door to door today. First couple miles on the groomed Livermore they weren't needed but we wore to minimize impact for the skiers [snowshoes or skis are required on Livermore]. Once off the groomed part a couple miles in the trail is broken out but not completely packed down and very uneven with some posthole action. Could walk fine for a while and then would suddenly sink in, even in snow shoes. Continued like this for rest of Livermore and beginning of Scaur Ridge. The trail forks into two broken out paths at top of Scaur near junction with pine bend, the one to the right when going up is the actual trail. Trail was in better shape up high on Pine Bend and Tripyramid trail. Going up middle we were were worried it might be icy at the steep parts but it was nice well packed snow. You'll definitely want snow shoes for this one. #2 and #3 for our SSW48.
