Comments: Skis or snowshoes required for Livermore Road (nordic ski trail system).

It was a very nice day for a hike. My son got snowshoes for Christmas and we tried them out today going up to the Scaur for the second time (last time he barebooted). I highly recommend snowshoes at this point. Don't let the initial ice on Kettle fool you. Beyond the 3 kettles there's a decent amount of snow that we were packing down with our snowshoes. Lots of slipping and sliding over the postholes made by barebooters. We saw 2 other pairs out today and of them, one other person was wearing snowshoes.

There were very wet areas of the trail with some running water, but all were easily avoided by walking on the snow by the trail. We got a nice view at the top, better than our first trip. My son was very pleased with his first snowshoeing trip and we're setting our sites on the next one!
