Comments
Comments: The snowpack survived the Festivus rain storm quite well. Nearly 2 feet of snowpack at the trailhead, possibly touching 3 feet in some places up high. Apart from a couple of very short seeps, there were no bare or bony areas. Though the trail is broken out, it is soft.

The majority of hikers today wore snowshoes roundtrip. Unfortunately, there were some masquerading Microspikers doing rototilling and leaving random postholes. Almost funny to watch them duck walking up the steeper parts because they can't get purchase in the granular/powder, whereas snowshoers cruise up without issue.

A dusting of powder resulted in some drifting above the cabin, obscuring the footbed.

No sign of activity on Kilkenny Ridge southbound, the abandoned Mt. Cabot Trail, or Kilkenny Ridge northbound toward the Bulge. Noted a single set of snowshoe tracks on York Pond Trail southwest bound. There was a crust in places, so trailbreaking would be vexing.
