I parked outside the gated Tower Road. Reservation Road had been plowed and was completely bare today. |

Several blowdowns on Middle Mountain Trail and on Tower Road between Tower Trail and Round Pond Road. A short distance up from the gate on Tower Road, where the first ponds are, part of the road has washed away, requiring a hop on a log. Looks like the washout might have been from the recent storm. |

Conditions today were the same as when I was out here yesterday, oddly enough. ;) Trails were mostly bare with some very light snow here and there. There was a considerable amount of ice in places, but it was all avoidable.
I had never been to Middle Mountain before and the views at the end of the trail are pretty good, though not spectacular. I bushwhacked around a bit to see if I could find some open ledges looking north but came up empty.
Another quiet day in the park. I saw a couple of folks walking their dogs and three other hikers. |
