Pretty straightforward hike up Ammonoosuc. Trail was packed down pretty good. Some minor ice and water to work through but the trail up to Lonesome Lake is in good shape. It looked like there were people barebooting or just in microspikes, but I would highly recommended snowshoes. I had them on the entire way up and down. Crawford Path is pretty soft and drifty, thus it's kind of a slog, but again pretty straightforward with snowshoes. By the time we hit the summit it was pretty windy, so we took off after a few minutes. Went down the Cog which is well defined but soft in spots. There were some benches and fire pits going at Waumbek Station which were very much appreciated. Took a little under 6 hours. |
