Tri-Town/Yellow Jacket Loop , Snow's Mountain (attempt)
Pine Flats, Yellow Jacket, Tri-Town, Snow's Mountain Trail
**PICS AND A MUCH BETTER DESCRIPTION LINKED IN BLOG BELOW**
Tale of two trails. The Tri Town and Yellow Jacket loop was packed snow and ice, perfect for microspikes. Nothing in the slightest to write home about.
Snow's mountain was very very deep. I got up to the Greeley Ledges junction by the time I realized I wasn't gonna get home in time if I finished the loop, so I unfortunately had to bail. I saw one set of tracks going up the rest of the trail, and a nice man behind me went and finished the job packing out the rest of the trail. A lot of work getting up the ski area, but honestly it wasn't bad on the real trail. Deep snow, but had a pretty solitude that made it worth the work. Wish I'd brought skis to do a lap or two up Snow's though! |
