Hiking Trail Conditions Report
	Peaks	Mt. Parker (attempt), NH

	Trails:	Mt. Langdon Trail

	Date of Hike:	Tuesday, December 20, 2022

	Parking/Access Road Notes:	Parking for probably 3 cars max at the trailhead unless you get really creative

	Surface Conditions:	Snow - Unpacked Powder, Snow - Drifts

	Recommended Equipment:	Snowshoes

	Water Crossing Notes:	Not covered with snow, so carefully and ungracefully rock hopped (wobbled) with my snowshoes

	Trail Maintenance Notes:	Lots of small blowdowns or trees bent over the trail with the heavy snow. I freed as many as I could

	Lost and Found:	Someone engaged in target practice near the trailhead at the big tree thats blown over just past the Doctor’s Grave and left a dozen cans. Will return later this week with a trash bag unless someone beats me to it


	Comments:	Up to and including Cave Mountain path looked to be booted-out. Was surprised to find that an intrepid snowshoer had attempted the Langdon Trail for about 3/4 of a mile past the Cave Mountain junction. The snow was very crusty and floatation was fine up to the point where the snowshoer called it. I salute you. I continued on for another mile or so through deep unbroken snow to about a quarter mile up Oak Ridge, but as I was just stopping by after work, I ran out of daylight so turned around. I’ll be back at some point soon to continue my mission of breaking all the way to Parker :)
