Our collection of 70+ year-old geezers is hugely grateful to whoever snowshoed & bare-booted the trails all the way up/down. It would have probably been more than we could have broken out. The trail is now nicely showshoe packed to the beginning of Willey Range Trail, and pretty well compacted above that. We used--and would recommend--an ice axe to help keep the ladder steps a bit more safely free of ice.
About 1' of powder snow to where Ethan Pond trail turns off, increasing up to about 2', with some drifting, above.
Great to see things look like winter! |
