Bushwhacked about 100 yards upstream to cross with snowshoes on. The fallen tree was covered with snow and it seemed someone who attempted to cross fell into stream. Steam flowing above average and no bridges, just deceptive snow. |

| Comments: |
Trail to water crossing was slightly broken but still soft. After the four of us did out and back this section of Dicey’s Mill is adequate but could use more snowshoe compaction. After water crossing we had to break trail. Extremely slow going, tedious and tiring. Turned around less than 1/2 mile from summit due to trying conditions and turn around time. Easily 15-18+ inches of snow on trail especially nearing Rollins junction. No one has been on Rollins Trail as Whiteface trail report noted. While it seems Whiteface could be done with spikes per other report, snowshoes a must for Passaconway. After Friday rain all bets off. |
