Comments
Comments: Nineteen Mile Brook Trail was nicely broken out, but there were two locations where there are two routes - stay to the left. Met one other hiker who was on his way back down. He said trail was broken out only to the junction of Nineteen Mile Brook and Carter Dome Trail. He attempted to continue on Nineteen Mile Brook, but turned around at the first water crossing.
I attempted to break out Carter Dome Trail and it was rough going for one person. Sometimes my strides were less than a foot. By my measurements the snow was 26" deep and was up above my knees
- even in snowshoes. I made it approximately 1/2 mile (el 2650) in almost 90 minutes. I did spend some time pushing snow into the low/water spots, but not sure if it will hold up. Bring snowshoes and a lot of friends.
