Comments
Comments: The NOHRSC site said there would be 16-20 inches of snow on the ground, and that seemed to be about what we saw. It was enough to cover most of the rocks, and with a little care one could avoid stepping on the rocks that did poke through, at least outside of the stream crossings.

There is a pretty-well-packed snowshoe track the whole way. Snowshoes (or skis!) are recommended from start to finish (well, one could cross the first little stream right at the beginning before putting them on). Some hikers were wearing microspikes; they weren't doing too much damage to the trail since it was mostly packed down enough that the microspikes didn't go too deep, but they probably slipped more than those using snowshoes.

While ascending along the ridge, at the fork with the "SUMMIT" sign with arrows pointing along both branches, we took the right branch (Mt. Tecumseh Trail), which is less direct, a little rougher, and less travelled, but still well packed down; then, upon reaching the summit, we came down the other branch (Sosman Trail), to form a counterclockwise loop.
