Comments
Comments: Blazes look fresh. My personal comments on the re-route. I used to use the trail before and it was a nice approach. The new section up to the bridge is top notch, kudos for the whole section. Ok, now onto the switchbacks. What a poor design. At one point I was talking to a girl, then proceeded along the switchback and had to go about 200 yards to cut-off 20 ft of steep slope, it's not only a waste of time, it's a waste of forest. It's the Whites, we can go up a steep slope. The slope itself is predominantly rock anyway, I cant believe erosion is an issue. Anywho, that's my 2 cents.

Shay got his second ascent of South Moat and his #20th peak on his round 2 of the 52wav list. We are both looking forward to snow, this trail is excellent, and we love it, but it's not the best in boney conditions, you all know what I mean. Found some cool needle ice in the lower section.
