Water crossings were definitely do-able with spikes, but we opted for the ski bridges (veer off to the left at the first crossing and use the herd path until it meets the ski trail, follow tj ski trail across the bridge and to the next bridge). |

 | Comments: |
Bare booted for the first 3+ miles, then put on spikes. I carried crampons but opted to keep using my hillsounds. Husband switched to crampons from microspikes for the first quarter mile or so down from the summit, where there was a decent amount of sheer slick ice. About halfway up, the snow began -- the fresh powder obscured the trail conditions enough that we kept spikes on the whole way down until the road walk. |
