Comments
Comments: Must walk Sawyer River Road. Was dry and firm. Bare-booted lower section of trail. Some ice and mud and running water on the 1.7 mile section but avoidable. After the Carrigain Notch Trail junction, Signal Ridge Trail was still dry with some avoidable ice. At about 2900-3000 feet elevation the spikes went on. There was one short section we removed because it was dry and rocky (left on for the decent). Bring your rock spikes - very bony. Some significant icy sections where you will want good spikes and/or go slow with deliberate foot placement. The ridge and summit were great. Low winds today only saw 2 other hikers.
