| Water Crossing Notes: |
All water crossings were challenging with ice coating all of the rocks. Water levels were higher than normal. Finding a safe crossing location that didn't involve fording the streams took extra time. If you're not comfortable jumping on ice encrusted rocks across an icy stream 7 miles from your car, you might not want to attempt this hike. |

Blowdowns here and there. Nothing significant. |

| Comments: |
The trails were mostly dry with the usual muddy spots right up to the climb to Owls Head. See the comments on the water crossings above. We went up the slide for the views. It was completely dry on the lower half, and some ice on the ledges on the upper half. After the junction with the Brutus bushwack to the summit ridge, the trail was an even split of ice, roots and rocks. Very slippery. The ridge path was snow covered and an easy walk. Brutus bushwack on the way down was very dry with little to no ice or snow. Definitively the better route for now. |
