Comments
Comments: Roughly dividable into four parts: 1st half regular rock/roots/dirt, 3rd quarter rock/ice mix, 4th quarter sheet of ice with occasional rocks poking out. Some of the ice had a thin dusting of snow on top, some was pure ice. I didn't put on microspikes until the descent, but they probably would have made the last ascent after the intersection with Sosman Trail a lot easier though. I brought Kahtoola K10s in case microspikes weren't sufficient but never felt the need to break them out. On the way down, a long patch of uninterrupted ice on a gentle grade shortly above the ski-slope lookout made excellent butt-sliding.
