Comments: Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail, Gulfside Trail, Jewell Trail

It was a surprisingly quiet day on Washington despite the forecast. Not terribly cold and minimal wind. Ammo is very icy, especially above treeline -- bring your good spikes. Also, crampons wouldn't be overkill for this trail. Monroe is also icy but Washington was surprisingly not as bad -- more snow than ice. Gulfside and Jewell had much less snow/ice and were easy/fast to descend. I would only recommend taking a dog with a lot of winter hiking experience up Ammo right now with the ice. My dog had to get creative to get up some of the icy spots. Jewell would be no problem for a dog.
