Because of recent rain, there was plenty of water on trail, but because of my early morning start, much of it was frozen. Carried crampons with me but really should have brought microspikes/grippers as the ice on the last bit toward the summit was significant. I managed to summit without using the crampons by scrambling from rock to rock or using the edges of the trail. Next time I'll carry both heavy and light traction. Other than that, fantastic hike - beautiful sun on a not really difficult trail. |
