Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: I parked in the tiny lot (room to tightly squeeze in two small cars) for SPNHF's Cottrell Forest along Jones Rd. in Hillsborough. This is right across the road from the start of Fisher Cat Trail.

Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Most of the trails used in this route were in fairly good shape. The exception was Fisher Cat Trail. It has the appearance of being quasi-abandoned with poor blazing and little evident footbed or corridor. It was also littered with blowdowns. It was pretty difficult to follow in both directions and I lost it briefly on the way out. Swamp Trail was signed as being closed due to logging at one end but not the other. Blazing could be improved everywhere. All junctions are signed well.

Comments
Comments: Fox Forest is a place I usually don't think about for some reason when it comes to hiking, even though it's close to home.

Today I made a 6.1 mi. loop through the SW parcel, fashioned out of various trails and roads. No views here but the walking is pleasant. Conditions were mainly dry but there were some spots of mud and standing water. All minor though. Despite its name, no ledges were seen on Ledge Trail. :(

Only one other person seen all day. Weather conditions felt more like spring than early December.
