| Comments: |
Drizzle and snow showers this morning for a fresh dusting of snow on top of the rocks and ice.
Put on Hillsounds ~3000' at a steep icy pitch. Overall, less ice than we expected going up East.
We carried full crampons but didn't feel the need for them today. Again, today was still warm (above freezing).
Windy up top and inside the clouds.
Kept the Hillsounds on til we got to ~3000' on the other side, below ice floes on the slabs.
Lots of running water in the trail, sometimes below the ice, sometimes we broke thru it.
Patches of black ice in the late afternoon on Tripoli Rd (closed to vehicles now) as temps were dropping.
