Trails
Trails: Mt. Tecumseh Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Sunday, December 4, 2022
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Plenty of parking at 8AM, and still plenty of spots by the time we left.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Ice - Black, Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth, Ice - Blue, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Slush
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The first two water crossings were easily navigated. The third crossing had higher water levels and required a bit of a walk upstream to find a way across that avoided crossing water more than ankle deep.

Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I brought my dog on this hike and while he was able to navigate the ice, I don't think he was enjoying the hike as much as usual. We tried booties but they were not helpful for these conditions. We ultimately didn't summit because of how icy the finial few steep sections were; not worth risking my dog's safety! We saw a couple other dogs on the trail, all were leashed and well-mannered.
Bugs
Bugs: None

Comments
Comments: The ice on the trail was a challenge and certainly slowed our pace significantly. Many patches had started to melt to slush/running water by the time we descended.
