Well as the bonds trip I had planned fell through due to the rain we did Moriah as a backup. I was surprised of the warmer weather as we expected it to be very cold which thankfully it was not too crazy for being December. We made it to surprise around 2 miles with no issues with snow or ice. Once we got to the ledges good spikes could be used but I held out for quite a while. I used rock spikes going up and my newer hillsounds going down which made all the difference. If they get anymore ice, crampons on those sections would not be a bad idea. There were many cars in the parking lot but we only saw a handful of people out there. Lisa and Rick closed out Moriah for their grid!!!! Another peak down for all the lists I am working on and a good day out with friends. |
