Today was no fun. The significant ice started near the big stream and continued well uphill. There were plenty of exposed rocks to step on and my microspikes helped some, but my pace was so very slow that I turned back to avoid having to do that downhill in the dark. When I say "in the dark," I mean "I bring a headlamp and use it without shame because hey the dark's no problem if you have a headlamp" well THIS would be a problem in anything but daylight because seeing what's ground and what's ice covered with leaves can be an issue. |
