Conditions: 19 Mile Brook had some bare ground, patchy snow and ice. Irene sure did a job on some sections of this trail. Bare-bootable to Jct of Carter Dome Trail. About the same conditions on the Carter Dome Trail to the first crossing. I switched to Hillsounds here because of some icy rocks and left them on until I came back down to the stream again. The crossings were easy. It may be my imagination, but I think that the first crossing has either changed it's coarse slightly or had it's rocks jumbled around some. May be a problem in high water. Second crossing had some deep erosion, but was easy to cross. Up to Zeta Pass, it was a mixture of the same, but more packed snow. From Zeta to the Dome, it was packed snow which filled in around the rocks fairly well.
Saw some others headed for Hight and S/M Carters. Didn't see anyone else headed for the Dome. All in All the trails are in good shape. Beautiful sunny day with just a slight breeze on the Dome.
