Comments
Comments: Icy. Microspikes mandatory today. Barebooted first part of trail and was able to find rocks/flat footing. First half of trail very eroded, sometimes over my head!! Never seen anything like it. Halfway up at some ledges the ice became unavoidable and I switched to microspikes, which I kept on the rest of the way. Second half of trail is nice through stunted evergreens. Seems to have been melting refreezing and some spots of thicker harder ice but avoidable. Snow was between 2 to 6 inches, with random bare spots. Crampons would be overkill for sure right now. Beautiful up top...very clear views and rime ice coating the trees.
