Comments
Comments: Spikes from the trailhead. A few random sections with some exposed rocks and mud throughout the ascent. Snow cover was good higher up, though, and it made me realize that Cabot is much more tolerable when most of the rocks are covered up. From the cabin to the summit was looser snow and a bit drifty, so snowshoes will likely be needed there after the next big snowfall. Trail runners are not appropriate footwear for the conditions on this hike at this time. Left my frickin Cabot cheese in the car since I figured I'd be down by lunch, which was true, but the whole reason I had brought it was for the cheese vibes at the summit. Grr. I'll get 'em next time.
