Comments
Comments: Jewell Trail to treeline well-packed, easy to follow. Jewell above treeline mix of drifted snow (some firm, some soft), some breakable crust, icy snow (some saturated, frozen snow, some real ice), bare rock. Cairns in varying degrees of visibility. Gulfside and Jefferson loop similar. We snowshoed all the way to Jefferson, but most opted to switch to crampons for the trip back to treeline, then don snowshoes for the trip down from there.
