Comments
Comments: Beautiful but windy day for a 4,000-footer! Plenty of folks out on the trails. We started up the Webster-Jackson Trail first towards Mt Jackson. The trail was well packed snow up the first 80-90%. The snow even made it a bit nicer because it evened out the trail a bit (not so much stepping up big rocks). The top 10-20% is steep somewhat scramble rocks, and those are covered in ice with a thin layer of snow. Somewhat sketchy but plenty manageable for folx with some snow/ice hiking experience. Summit was super windy. Trail over to Webster had the same sketchy icy rocks rambles at first, but once you got through those few sections it was a breeze. The winds were mitigated by being back within trees. Webster summit was very windy, then hike out was very nice. Overall a beautiful day, just be sure to have proper warm gear for the summit, stops, or emergencies!
