Original plan was to continue from Percival along the Crawford-Ridgepole Trail toward Doublehead to get the part we hadn't done yet. Scrapped it due to knee pain, took forever just to get to Percival. Traction was not needed on this trail, I did see two people wearing microspikes near the summit, so maybe the ridge had ice. Muddy area halfway up was not frozen, that may change. An inch of snow in the woods, none on the trail. Yet.... As usual, views of the lake and surrounding mountains were beautiful. Put the lights on shortly before getting back to the car. Gorgeous dusk on the way down. And I think I may have seen a fireball. Sometimes being slow has its advantages.
Some humor for all of you: A few minutes after leaving the house, the "Green Tip" on the radio mentioned one of the greatest impacts you can have is getting your children out in nature! 2. Billboard right after the Hooksett tolls heading south on 93 was advertising for Orthopedic surgeons! |
