Comments
Comments: First one in the lot at first light (6:15). Maybe 10 cars when we left at noon, but only saw one pair of women on the trail during the day and a friendly dog walker on the road at the end. All trails were well broken out, doesn't seem like it's snowed in a few days. Dirt, leaves and some loose granular up to Tom Wiggins junction, then increasing snowpack. Microspikes were not strictly required, but useful as the trail got steeper after the river crossing. Spikes recommended above the Rollins Trail junction due to running water and significant blue ice on the trail. Snowshoes rode shotgun all day, brought them in spite of recent reports suggesting they wouldn't be needed, cuz you never know! Need to burn some extra calories before turkey anyways.
Great views North and East, some interesting clouds obscuring the lakes to the South. Not too windy or cold. Happy Thanksgiving!
