Comments
Comments: nice day out and probably the last "civilized" start time of the season for me. Hit the trail at 11:00 straightup. Jewell nicely booted out to treeline where some deep drfiting begins..plenty of rock and postholes around to leave the snowshoes on the pack but it wont be long as trail us filling in nicely. Gulfside over to Jefferson a mixture of bare rock and drifts..snowshoes again got a free ride as they would have been on and off again several times.

I used spikes most of the day and they were fine..a little icy in spots for my comfort barebooting. Windy headed up to Jefferson but the breeze was not cold at that point so I continued..tagged summit and quickly dropped down..pleased now to have wind mostly at my back. Got colder on descent which crusted things up a bit tho dropped back into warmer stuff around 3500 feet. Great day to be out...never saw a person all day..a few pics in a bit
