Comments
Comments: Beautiful day to hike to one of my favorites and dial in the winter gear. Minimal snow cover on mostly packed trail at upper elevations.Engine Hill BW was broken out for the most part and is a nice track as well as the Iso Express Both routes seemed a bit low so with low snow i was able to take a slightly higher line on both and was all smiles as my route ended at the same point as the lower almost diagonal to the Iso Express. on the express i again took a little higher line and ended up on the other established route. im sure either way was similar mileage. Barebooted till the Isolation Spur than rock spikes to the summit. Wind was spicy at summit but was subsiding. Although snow shoes stayed in trunk they may have been helpful on the Bushwhacks only to pack the trail. Thanks Capn Chris for the recommendation on the sealskin socks in last weeks report. they kept my feet dry!
